The Alleyway Project @ Anywhere Theatre Festival 2012

There's no stage for this play - instead it's an alley in the valley. As part of the Anywhere Theatre Festival, The Alleyway Project is set in the wonderfully hip, Winn Lane, Fortitude Valley.

The Alleyway Project is the first production of The Alleyway Collective, showcasing a unique style of pop-up theatre, inspired by those narrow alleys that we walk past every day. The Project encourages artists to "write site specific works responding to space and local subject matter stripping back the performances to create raw experiences that can be lost in large scale theatres." Sounds fascinating to me.

An unusual set for a play

Over several nights this May, local "alleycats" will perform the work of four playwrights - local stories of "naughty nights and dreamlike days and those forgone fantasies of Fortitude Valley." If the blog is anything to go by, they seem to be having a lot of fun getting this production ready, so head along to Winn Lane for some pop up fun, because this gig is bound to be impressive.
