1. Elmo's World Tour
The world's most famous furry little red monster is touring Australia in an all-singing, all dancing spectacular. Join Elmo and all your favourite Sesame Street characters including Abby Cadabby, Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, The Count and Cookie Monster as they set off around the world, learning about different cultures. Elmo and friends will be at the Riverside Theatres, Parramatta, NSW on Tuesday 15 May 2012, and will be touring regionally in NSW and ACT until 26 May 2012. Tickets cost approx $29 each. Visit the website

2. Chronicles of Narnia: The Exhibition @ The Powerhouse

From May 12 until August 26 2012, The Powerhouse Museum in Ultimo will be hosting
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Exhibition, featuring over 150 original costumes, props and set dressings from the popular Chronicles of Narnia film series. Your kids will learn more about how this immersive world mirrors our own, including finding out how we influence climate, learn about castle building and heraldry and find out whether we really can talk to animals. Kids can interact with spectacular three-dimensional sets, get the chance to be the White Witch by sitting on her icy throne, touch a frozen waterfall and try firing a catapult. 3. Pregnancy Babies and Children's Expo

The annual Pregnancy Babies and Childrens Expo will be held between Friday 18 May to Sunday 20 May 2012 at Sydney Showground Exhibition Centre, Sydney Olympic Park. This fabulous event gives mums,dads and carers the opportunity to learn about new brands and products, hear from experts, talk to qualified midwives, and get plenty of tips on pregnancy and parenting in the early years. There's plenty for the kids to do too – live stage entertainment including Dorothy the Dinosaur shows, animal farm, comfyland play experience and lots of other free activities. 4. Free Event: Vivid Sydney presents Light Sculptures

This is one worth keeping the kiddies up for! From 25 May until 11 Jun, Circular Quay, The Rocks, Walsh Bay and the Sydney Opera House will light up with over 50 interactive and immersive light art sculptures. They will include fibre optic sea grass, dancing lamps, giant glowing dandelions and illuminated skyscrapers. The light show takes place from 6pm – midnight, each night.
